Franz Kafka, who started his career as an insurance officer, once wrote: “By believing passionately in something that still does not exist, we create it.”
Had Kafka anticipated the Metaverse? We would never know.
In this issue, we will also connect insurance and the Metaverse…
Wishing you an enlightening learning,

Report: Insurance Technology Vision and the Metaverse (Accenture)
Accenture’s report reviews what insurers should know about the Metaverse which will reshape every element of the insurance business over the next five to ten years. Enabled by technology, creativity, and human and social norms, the metaverse continuum will bridge physical and digital personas, properties, and space.
By accelerating their transformations to meet the evolving needs of customers, leading insurers are grappling with a new and different future — that of the Metaverse. The rise of the metaverse answers to the needs of the next generation of insurance customers, who are constantly seeking new and better experiences. Meeting their expectations will demand new ways of thinking.
Just as in the early years of the web, insurers are hurtling toward a future different from the one they were designed for. Within years, we will see a complete transformation of the environment in which insurers operate. Those that have a mature and well-oiled digital engine will be best prepared to participate in and build the new environments and worlds of the metaverse.

The Fraud Prevention Use Case for Behavioral Biometrics (BAI)
Seth Ruden from BioCatch and Joey Zollinger from Alkami join the BAI Banking Strategies podcast to discuss a growing area of biometrics that focuses on customers’ digital behaviors: Fraud prevention.
A few takeaways from the conversation:
- Behavioral biometrics are about behavioral tendencies as people do their digital banking. This includes typing speed on their phone, how they move their computer mouse, and more.
- An emerging fraud form where behavioral biometrics may be effective is authorized push-payments fraud, where a customer is socially engineered into authorizing a payment.
- In the future of fraud prevention, there is room for banking institutions to integrate more deeply with existing fraud solutions to address a growing incidence of cross-channel fraud.

Call for Speakers: DigitalRosh LIVE – The Giraffe Series: Seeking Digital Heights (23Q1)
DigitalRosh LIVE is a series of Zoom webinars broadcast live on Tuesdays, edited by Jacob Eilon. Each series has a different topic and focus, and each event in the series hosts top managers from various companies and organizations for a lecture followed by Q&A and discussion. Since its inception in 2020, DigitalRosh LIVE has hosted more than 80 events in 12 live series.
In 2023-Q1 (February and March), the DigitalRosh LIVE series will be dedicated to the Giraffe and named “Seeking Digital Heights.”
Because of their height, giraffes are able to see over the horizon and spot potential threats or opportunities that might not be visible to other animals. Their tall stature also allows them to find an abundance of food inaccessible to other animals – a “blue ocean” in the savannah.
In addition to their physical abilities, giraffes also have excellent eyesight, which helps them to see clearly and accurately over long distances. A strong heart powers this wonderful animal, pumping blood all the way up its tall neck.
In this live series, the speakers will have the opportunity to share their insights and experiences with a global audience of like-minded individuals.
We are looking for international speakers who can inspire and engage our audience, and who can provide valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in the digital innovation of their field.
How can the implementation of digital technology change an entire traditional industry? Who are the Giraffes of every field – the pioneers that see the future ahead of everyone else?
If you are interested in joining our DigitalRosh LIVE series as a speaker or know someone who you think might fit, please email yesha.sivan@digitalrosh.com with your name and further information.
We look forward to hearing from you!
