Wolfram Alpha is a computational search engine, developed by Wolfram Labs and launched in May 2009. Its uniqueness is in performing queries in natural language, combined with calculations and extensive information storage.
Wolfram Alpha is based on Mathematica software and databases in areas such as history, weather, macroeconomic data, music and more. It also enables personal data analysis based on Facebook information. Wolfram Alpha is used by search engines and by artificial intelligence systems – such as Siri, Apple’s personal assistant. (From Wikipedia).
Unlike the Google search engine that answers most of our search requests, Wolfram Alpha does not display a list of links – but displays the search results after an aggregate and comparative calculation.
The Wolframalpha.com site defines itself as a unique engine for calculating answers and providing knowledge. It uses its vast knowledge base and sophisticated algorithms to answer questions, conduct analyzes and generate reports automatically.
You can ask any question, but the engine only returns answers to questions it is able to answer, which relate to the topics its databases cover, and are formulated in a syntax understood by its artificial intelligence. See examples and usage recommendations here.
