A study by Accenture found 4 key actions to create value for the organization through an experiential-human connection (Omni-connect) between the employees in the organization.
Our devices may always be on and we feel always connected. At Accenture they found that only one in six men and women feel very connected – in a human sense – at work. And not just a connection to their organization, but to the people they work for and with.
Trust within the teams also decreases. Only one in five people feel comfortable sharing problems or raising conflicts with colleagues. Only one in four report that leaders are responsive to their needs, communicate regularly, and feel that team members are treated equally.
Technology is and will continue to be an essential accelerator of human connection – helping people learn, collaborate and turn data into insights. Now organizations must take the next step and turn these interactions into inclusive experiences that create value for both the employees of the organization and the businesses themselves. In organizations where people feel very connected to each other, to their leaders and to their work, you see a 7.4% increase in revenue per year.
All-inclusive experiences do not mean that you have to be connected to others 24/7. on the contrary. Those with stronger ties within the organization can more easily get away from work and disconnect in a good way – to strengthen personal resilience, fuel creativity and productivity.
The 4 key ‘all-inclusive’ actions that will give the organization great value:
Modern leadership — to lead with empathy, compassion, transparency and reliability
Thriving culture — foster cultural norms that favor purpose, authenticity, and psychological safety
Agile organization — foster flexibility, agility and expansion of new ways of working
Technological empowerment — to provide access to a solid technological base and the ability to experiment
Accenture’s research includes interviews with 1,100 C-level executives and 5,000 female and male employees in a variety of roles and locations.
