On the 4th session of LIVE series “Weaving Digital” we meet Arie Rimini, General Manager of Shaam, IT dept. at the Israeli Tax Authority (ITA). Arie introduced ITA and elaborated on their challenges and plans in the rapidly changing economy. A Q&A session followed the key lecture and this week’s CONNECT newsletter video was introduced.
Part I – Arie Rimini
Arie Rimini, GM of Shaam (ITA’s IT department) presented figures and sources of income at the Tax Authority to show the challenges ITA is facing: tracking, reporting and collecting taxes. With two use cases about the real-time invoice approval process today and Al Capone IRS case he demonstrated ITA strategy for the future: Make taxation happen by itself, with a tax system that is transparent for all taxpayers including low and equal rates, smart intelligence, and the use of big data. Some of the change is expected already in 2023.
