On November 29th, 2022 Gila Tolub was the keynote speaker at the third meeting in the DigitalRosh Live series – “Weaving Digital”.
Gila leads the Israeli branch of the McKinsey Global Health Network, a network of more than 1000 start-ups in the field of health around the world. Gila is also the co-sponsor of McKinsey’s pro-bono work in Israel and the dean of McKinsey’s executive transition masterclasses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, which have supported more than 150 executives in their transition to new positions, many of them in new sectors and locations.
Gila Tolub opened her lecture with the definitions of equity vs. equality and explained how innovation can promote health equity, meaning a fair and just opportunity for everyone to live as healthy as possible. She gave some examples of startups she works with that are working on incorporating equity into their products or services.
In the question and answer session that followed Gila’s lecture, where Gila answered the participants’ questions, the participants raised questions of trust, burden of disease, evidence of behavior and many others related to fairness in the medical field
