Over the past few years, artificial intelligence has been slowly creeping into modern life. On Feb 2023, John Oliver’s HBO Max show “Last Week Tonight” unpacked the recent deluge of news regarding the dangers and absurdities of tech companies like San Francisco’s OpenAI and its app ChatGPT.
The segment opens with a roast of the many local news outlets whose anchors cheekily asked ChatGPT to write the scripts for their segments. Then, in perhaps the most glorious example of AI creativity, Oliver shows a clip of an AI-generated rap song about cats, sung by the AI-generated voice of Eminem.
