Bio-Mix is a program created by Teva together with i8 Ventures as part of the National Forum for Bio-Innovators for doctoral students and post-doctoral students from leading universities in Israel.
The purpose of the program, led by Professor Yesha Sivan, founder and CEO of i8V and DigitalRosh, and Dr. Dana Bar-On, director of Teva’s academic relations in the global R&D department, is to connect the laboratory and research to “real life”. In 2022, the third cycle of the program began.
This year there is a new mentoring element – 12 graduates from the previous cycles were chosen to act as mentors for the 2022 cycle, in order to guide the participants throughout the process, while continuing the collaboration with Teva and improving their skills.
On February 8, we held an opening meeting of the mentoring team. I8 Ventures was responsible for the professional side with mentoring training. The mentors met and exchanged ideas and thoughts.
In two meetings in February and March, the participants were introduced to leading researchers and startups, who in practice combine academic work with businesses – people who translated their findings into companies. Participants had the opportunity to meet in person with senior leaders from the health and science industry, present their research ideas and receive constructive feedback for the next steps.
