Innoviz discusses LiDAR for Autonomous Driving with MIT Students
LiDar is a light detection and ranging system that uses laser imaging to measure the time for the reflected light to return to the receiver.
Innoviz Technologies is a leading manufacturer of high-performance solid-state LiDAR sensors and perception software that are used in the automotive, drone, logistics, and sidewalk delivery industries.
In a lecture given for the MIT “Introduction to Deep Learning course”, Omer David Keilaf (CEO) and Amir Day (Head of CV) from Innoviz Technologies discussed what car makers are trying to achieve and how they are helping them with LiDar sensors and perception software.

C2PA – The Coalition for Content Provenance & Authenticity
The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) is an association founded by Adobe, Arm, BBC, Intel, Microsoft, and Truepic, focused on addressing the prevalence of misleading information online by developing open, global technical specifications for certifying the source and history of digital media content.
C2PA also works to bring together the efforts of two groups, the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) and Project Origin.
CAI was founded to tackle deep fakes, misinformation, and deceptively manipulated content, while Project Origin focuses on tackling disinformation in digital news.
Organizations are invited to join the coalition to be part of the initiative.

Person of the Week: Tera Allas, Director, Research & Economics at McKinsey (London)
Tera Allas, CBE, is Director of Research and Economics in McKinsey’s United Kingdom and Ireland office, working closely with the McKinsey Global Institute.
She leads McKinsey’s research on the macroeconomic outlook, growth, and productivity, bringing together deep expertise and more than two decades of experience in strategy, corporate finance, economics, and public policy.
Tera is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. She is a frequent author, panelist, and speaker on topics ranging from economic development and social impact to technology adoption and the future of work, as well as corporate performance.
She serves as the chair of The Productivity Institute, a trustee of the Royal Economic Society and the United Kingdom’s Productivity Leadership Group, and as a governor of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. She is also a member of a number of expert advisory groups on economic policy, innovation and labor markets.
Tera was previously on the board of Innovate UK, the United Kingdom’s national innovation agency. From 2004 to 2014, she worked as chief economist in the UK’s energy, transport and business departments and deputy head of the UK Government Economic Service. In 2018, Tera was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to economic policy.
In January 2023, she co-authored the Pathways to Israel’s Prosperity report by McKinsey, together with David Chinn, Managing Partner at McKinsey Israel. You can access the complete report on DigitalRosh.
